Gotcha. This is a weird one. I haven't seen it mentioned in other threads relating to this latest update.

I'm going to look around a bit to see if I can find anything out there about this. If I do see something I will post it here.

Since the last update, mine repeats "home point updated, check it on the map" as soon as I take off.

There is a 7-page thread in the Forum on a post just about the latest version 1.03.0500 firmware update. No one mentions anything there about hearing different startup noises, regardless of what platform they are using. Some of the pilots had already flown their Mavics with the new firmware and none of them noted anything different except some details about what features are included in the upgrade.

It doesn't make any sense that some people are hearing two startup tones as opposed to only one. We may have to wait until more reports about having two startup tones begin coming in to figure this one out. No one noticed any decrease in performance after the update did they?

Mine is making this sound as well! Sometimes Mine is also taking longer to shutdown.

I haven't upgraded to the newest firmware yet and my Mavic always makes the startup sound twice. One of the sounds is very faint. I'm assuming this happens to all Mavics. Many people are probably just not noticing the dupe sound since it's not as easy to hear.

This is very possible, really. It's an answer that would make sense.

I know whatever sounds my Mavic makes now is no different than before the firmware update. Msinger offers a solution that is logical to me at least. And this poster does know what he is talking about when it comes to Mavics as far as I've seen. I would say mystery solved.

Since updating from .400 to .500, I've noticed the faint sound is coming first instead of second- that might be the change some other people have mentioned.

If some people experience no change in their startup noise but others of us do, that's... interesting, and hopefully nothing more than cosmetic.

I don't know if the start up sound is getting stuck and repeating its self or what but i've flown twice now with the new firmware and I haven't noticed any ill effects. Flies normal.

That's great news. No problems with flight or performance with my Mav after the firmware update either. In the end, that's really all that matters.
