Hi all, I have a flight assessment tomorrow and I just wanted to ask how other operators using a Mavic would attempt "switching off the transmitter” re the following:

It is a CAA requirement that you can successfully demonstrate the recovery of the aircraft from a ‘loss of control link’ and return the aircraft home. This will be done by breaking the link by switching off the transmitter - not using a return to home function (if fitted). The aircraft should be set up so that this exercise can be successfully accomplished.

To force a RTH I have tried pressing to off on button on the controller as you do pre flight but it wont shut off. any ideas?

This video is a good demonstration of switching the controller off mid flight:

Set the RTH function to: HOVER instead of RETURN TO HOME. The mavic should just stay put until you re-establish connection with the remote, as long as it has the battery life to remain in the air.

You absolutely don't want to do that since according to the first post the exam asks for a demonstration that it DOES return to home.
