I have had mine for two weeks but have only used it twice because it has been snowing and when not snowing the temps have ranged from 6* to 25*. Tried using it in 25* weather and my hands froze pretty quickly and I was not able to feel the joysticks on my controller. The last couple of days have been 40* and 45* so I took the case outside with my MP to see if I noticed any difference using the boosted system. My house is surrounded by 120' to 130' tall trees and I usually get a glitchy video feed when the MP is 300' up and out about 1,000' in any direction. During my last test I brought the MP up to 300' and sent it out 2,500' and the signal was still very strong. I only brought it back because I kept getting high wind warnings and since I do not have a GPS tracker on the MP I didn't want to take the chance of it going down in the trees where I probably would never find it.
I like the fact that I can just grab one case that has everything I need (four batteries, the MP, iPad
Mini 4, sun shade, set of camera filters, card reader for data transfer, two sets of spare props, rubber landing pad, cleaning cloths, and a few other items) and my collapsible tripod and I am good to go.
If I want to go bare bones then I just gram my 5.5"
Crystal Sky, the MP and controller. For me this purchase was well worth it.
