The dji cellular dongle 2, anyone tried it ?...

Well I did ! Lol, just got it and looked it up tot he air 3s and voilla i got 4 bars in 4g signal, just didn't fly it yet, however am wondering since the drone will have its OWN sim card with data plan, how much data does the flight consume while streaming video to the controller ???


Anyone tried that and can give us rough numbers?? I'd hate running out of data while in mid air

I read somewhere a 30 minute session consumes about 1GB of data, but don't quote me on this since I don't recall where i seen this number.

I am also assuming you are not testing this in North America?

I use it, I have a 5Gig plan in the sim and never ran out. I do regular long range flights with no RC connection so it should be eating up Data pretty fast but I always have a 4G connection

“The DJI Cellular Dongle 2 consumes approximately 1 GB of data for a 30-minute flight when fully relying on 4G for transmission. This applies to the air unit (drone). If the ground unit (remote controller) also uses 4G, it may consume a similar amount, totaling around 2 GB for both units during a 30-minute flight.”
