Oh! What a beautiful morning. I was starting to believe the sun never shines in this land. Patreksfjörður is a charming village of approximately 650 inhabitants, located in the Westfjords. Its name means ‘the fjord of St Patrick. The Westfjords of Iceland are much less traveled than most other corners of the country, due to their vastness and distance from the south side of the country. This fact, however, says nothing about of the incredible wonders to be found here. It is, in fact, one of the country’s most spectacular and awe-inspiring regions. The settlements are small and sparse, and between them are untouched landscapes and dramatic features unlike any other in the country.
