Been thinking...there is only one reason for Refresh not to cover lost drones: You can sell your drone or drone parts and fraudulently claim it was lost. However, there a few things to mitigate this type of fraud:
1) You have a record of the fly-away or far away tree hit, if the camera was on, or if the flight was being logged (or both). Battery drain losses could have a higher deductible for your stupidity. You can submit this evidence with the claim, so there is no doubt what happened.
2) They could blacklist the serial number so if gets a wifi refresh, it auto-bricks. Or, they can use the same programmed pairing you get with your key fob for your car; You should only be allowed to pair to a single controller, or you need to send in the controller in with the refresh claim so they can re-pair the replacement drone to your original controller.
3) They can charge extra to cover fly always, if customer desires.
Why can't they do these things, and achieve perfect customer experience ??
