Well, I saw this article on a CNN news feed and was intrigued... after reading it, we’ll see for yourselves...

I just read the article. Said it was updated last night at 1130pm. Guess I missed the initial coverage of it.

Surprised somebody hasn't shot one down already. Don't know anything about shotguns, but they even take down a large drone 400 feet up? Is that out of range?

At 400 ft, that would be a little difficult, doable, but difficult

Why, far more likely to be a civilian company. No reason for military to deny it. If it was sensitive they would be somewhere else

I read in the original article that shooting down a drone would be illegal (from the sheriff department).

It certainly is. My guess these are some kind agriculture fleet because of the night flying and patterns or possibly a future Search and Rescue fleet for the same reasons.
