hi fellow fliers, well like many of us i suspect, i have been watching some of the reviews that are available on the internet,
i have also looked at the manual from the DJI site
it seems to be a combined Mini 4 pro, and Neo, but without the full 360 OA ,of the Mini 4 pro
is it a replacement for the mini series ? ,i guess time will tell

The one omission that many are pointing out is that there is no FPV mode.

I did pull the trigger on one. I see it as sort of a "Neo Air" or "Neo Pro". Not a fully featured Mini Pro but has more capabilities than a Neo....just minus FPV.

I'm not sure who they actually made it for? Its a whoop but with those folding cages its probably a fragile one SOO why not just get an AVATA2? And those little carbon tubes seem like a hazard more than anything!

Vloggers aren't going to be using goggles and flying around FPV. I think it's supposed to be a completely seperate product from the Avata series.

I see your point but ether way why not just get an AVATA 2? besides this one being slightly cheaper. and it folds?
I don't see the benefit myself.....but they will sell a ton of them that's for sure.

Doesn't Avata require the use of goggles and motion controllers while operating? I could be mistaken.

It looks like a deeper play at the emerging sub 250 OOP market. Like @ryguy80 says, higher end neo-type users. Hence the standalone UI, like the neo. Look at those prop cages - totally safe. The larger diameter, two-blade props will make it quieter and lower frequency than the neo.

I'll be getting one because, well, DJI fanboy. Yeah, I admit it.

Honestly with both Avatas and a Neo in my squadron if the flip supported FPV it would probably get flown one battery to check it out, and then never again. I doubt it would be much fun.

Also, with the way those props fold I don't think you could invert it and cut power... might fold up?

MAN at that price and I KNOW this is a DJI Forum BUT I would hands down buy a GEPRC Cinelog before I got a flip!! kinda a NO brainer The cinelog will bounce off of stuff, You can race it, You can tune it, You can fix it, and if you already have the DJI Controller and goggles all you need is the Drone! The only Caveat being it has no modes and must be Flown in ACRO but thats the best way to fly anyway!.

Flip…. flop. OK, a vlogger drone, with all the features geared towards that market; definitely not for a professional photographer or serious enthusiast. So the casual vlogger posts up on their social streams. A commercial use according to the FAA. Hmmmm, that begs a question….

There's no Remote ID, at least not enabled, on the Flips sold in the U.S., so this can't be used for commercial work. Seems like a missed opportunity for Cat 1 operations over people.

Came here to say this. An interesting thing, and not something that I really care about in terms of regulation-scolding, but it doesn't even seem like review sites (dronedj, cnet, pcmag, etc...) could review it and remain compliant with FAA regulations (I'm sure a lot of the reviewers don't actually have their 107s anyway, but that's a whole other conversation).

Why not?

Seems to compete quite well with the Mini 4 Pro in terms of features important to that market, chiefly features and capabilities addressing image quality.

Looking at the feature set, it looks very similar to the M4P, with a bunch of additional features.

Don't forget attachable RID modules...
