Those almost certainly would push the weight over 250g.

Doesn't matter if your purpose is p107 for hire use. 250g is irrelevant.

For recreational, you don't need RID <250g, so again a non-issue.

There's no Remote ID, at least not enabled, on the Flips sold in the U.S., so this can't be used for commercial work. Seems like a missed opportunity for Cat 1 operations over people.
I agree this is starting to sound like a huge miss by DJI for not implementing standard RID. I can see not being on NEO but Flip should have had it.

My freinds and I have been wondering: IF I install a internal RID board on a Drone I built do I need a certificate of compliance from the FAA for my Drone? or will they assume it was installed correctly? Can you use a homebuilt Drone With say a DronetagBS RID board for Part 107 flights? It seems externals are fine.

The issue here was Cat 1 ops over people, to which 250g is very much relevant.

§ 107.110 Category 1 operations.
To conduct Category 1 operations—

(a) A remote pilot in command must use a small unmanned aircraft that—

(1) Weighs 0.55 pounds or less on takeoff and throughout the duration of each operation under Category 1, including everything that is on board or otherwise attached to the aircraft;

You're absolutely right, I just completely forgot that under 250g was a requirement.
