Tried the Tripod Mode for the first time today, very disappointed did not find any difference between that and Normal mode, I expected it to be a lot slower and similar to my old MP1, any other users find that there is not a lot of difference to Normal Mode.

Something I will look into when I can get out to fly.
Due to an accident I haven't been able to fly for months.
I am sure that tripod mode did make a difference but I will take note when I can get to fly again.

Tripod on my MA2 is noticeably slower.

If we're talking about the Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom while utilizing DJI Go 4, remember to enable 'Multiple Flight Modes' in your 'Main Controller Settings'. The initial default setting is disabled. Deleting/reinstalling the app and periodic updates could potentially cause the setting to revert to 'off'.

Yeah, it should be lots slower. Mine is.

If you don't have multiple flight mode set as LoganAir suggests, you should be seeing a message on your controller when you set the switch to Tripod, telling you that it can't change to that mode.

Echoing everybody else's statements here, Tripod mode should be considerably slower and more deliberate. Your stick movements should be very exaggerated and have very low "exponential throw" (I don't know if that terms applies to aircraft, it's a common controller setting on ground rc vehicles).

I'm reasonably certain that if you start the aircraft in "T" mode it won't change anything. I think that regardless of which mode you have the aircraft in at bootup/takeoff it automatically starts in "P" and you have to switch the aircraft into "T" mode afterward for it to take change. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong there. As others have mentioned you have to enable "multiple flight modes" within the app, if you haven't already.

you are correct as far as the MPP is concerned you cant enter tripod mode until the aircraft is in flight ,once tripod mode is selected it remains in that mode ,till you turn it off ,or land and turn the battery off it is always in P mode upon start up

You need to keep the switch in Normal mode before take-off. Once you take off you can switch to Tripod or Sport mode. The aircraft always take off in Normal mode even if the switch is in Sport or Tripod. If you take off in Tripod or Sport just put it back to normal then switch to tripod or sport to have an effect.

This happened to me in my MA2 and M2P because I always fly from my balcony in a 2nd-floor apartment. In order to pass the balcony I need to use Sport mode to disable the obstacle avoidance and pass the fence, then I switch to normal.

You may have hit the nail on the head, I did boot up the MA2 in Tripod mode, thanks for that I will try it on my next outing.
