UAE Drone Registration - UAE Phone Number Needed

Hi All,

I am trying to register my drone in the UAE through the GCAA website, but the application requires a UAE phone number and texts a verification number to that number before the application can be submitted. I'm a U.S. resident planning on doing only recreational flying in Dubai, and therefore don't have a UAE phone number. Any tips on how to solve for this? I've explored getting a virtual UAE phone number but they don't work with SMS unfortunately.

Best thing to do is buy a sim when you arrive and do it then. Have a look at the local app called MyDroneHub for flying zones. It is quite restricted except in open desert areas. You should be fine just DO NOT film any people that are not your family.
