Greetings fellow pilots. After a years flying the Mavic started climbing
after the first low battery warning. I have to hold the throttle off until
it lands ok with a low battery. Any ideas most welcome.

Am new to the forums and not sure what "tags" do.

Still fying at 88 ha ha !

Hmm... the return to home altitude is set and it is trying to climb to that altitude?
Howdy from Wyoming @discus , welcome to the community, plenty of fine folk and excellent information here.

Impressive that it flew for a year before needing recharging. More seriously though - if it reaches the "smart battery go home" battery level, which is the minimum battery it calculates it needs to return to the home point, and it is more than 20 m from the home point, then it will attempt to ascend to the pre-programmed RTH altitude before returning to home. Could that explain what you saw?

Your drone will rise to the RTH altitude that is set in the app if it is not already at said altitude. And that value is in meters.

Agree. This ascension killed my first 5-days-old MP, last year...
