Updates needed ?

I'm wondering about updates . I haven't powered up my new Mavic yet. I'll admit , after reading about all the glitches possibly associated with updates , I'm nervous . So my question is ; if / when I'm prompted to do so , MUST I ? Or can I just ignore the prompts & schedule for a later time ?

Updates are optional. Ignore the prompts to install the updates if you don't want to install them.
