As I was preparing for a mapping job yesterday, I just happened to notice that a part that appears to be a gimbal shock absorber on the bottom back of the gimbal housing area is broken on the right (starboard) side of the drone. It does not seem to be impeding the motion of the gimbal (although there is some evidence of possible friction). This drone has not had any hard crashes, although it did do a forced landing (engines on) and got caught by the branches of a small pine tree when a battery failed a couple of months ago. Is this part user serviceable (and if so, what is it and where can I get one?) or is it a trip to DJI service? 20250718-104321 DJI Mavic 2 Pro gimbal shock broken-Edit.jpg20250718-104412 DJI Mavic 2 Pro gimbal shock broken-Edit.jpg20250718-104652 DJI Mavic 2 Pro gimbal shock broken-Edit.jpg20250718-105133 DJI Mavic 2 Pro gimbal shock broken-Edit.jpg

Thanks. Yes, their service has been fabulous! Just was hoping it might be a simple part to replace and might avoid the week without it (needed for mapping jobs as my backup, a Zoom, doesn't have quite the resolution).
I have read so many posts on the forum where someone has replaced a seemingly simple part and then they get an inexplicable error message. Sending it to DJI avoids all that and probably gets you back in the air more quickly.
I love my M2P, but I strap my batteries in just to be safe. A known weakness.

Thanks again ... makes sense. I have a M2P and M2Z ... and yes, hundreds of hours and have ALWAYS flown with a velcro strap!

That particular part is something that can be replaced by other than DJI. The camera will need to be removed(6 screws and one ribbon connector)to access that broken piece. I probably have the piece if you need one.

I'm seeing 10 1.5mm hex machine screws (labeled in the image, #9 & #10 are hidden by the body fairing secured by #1 & #2). Can you tell me which 6 need to be removed? And would you happen to have a DJI Mavic 2 technical service manual?? LOL! I'll send you a PM. 20250719-110139 Mavic 2 Pro drone camera and gimbal area-Edit.jpg

Never mind. Perplexity Pro AI is a wonderful thing. I found the name of the part and ordered an OEM part on eBay. It also provided me with step-by-step detailed instructions on how to replace the gimbal vibration absorbing board including a link to a YouTube video on replacing that exact part. For those who need to know, screws 1 & 2 are removed to release the plastic air baffle, and then screws 7, 8, 9, & 10 release the gimbal assembly. The removal and replacement steps are shown in the first and last third of this video:
