I think that DaVinci is for the professionals, it is very hard to learn it if you are a beginner. You don't need too many tools if you want just to make the video shorter for your client. I can suggest you online video cutter fastreel. You don't have to download anything, just upload the video you want to shorten and download the part you cut off. Believe me, it is really easy.

no it's not that hard and you better try it and learn by watching videos on youtube rather than using a simple begginer software

I watched this video on my tablet and followed along on my computer editing my own video at the same time. In an hour I was able to cut and join video clips and add music and titles. Easy peasy and FREE! If you want to keep learning and get into professional-quality stuff it has the ability to do way more than most of us will ever need. There are all sorts of tutorials online for whatever you want to do. You get a Ferrari but you can just drive it around the parking lot if you want.
