Video files strangely large

I shot an 8-minute video at 24fps 1080p and the file size is 2GB. Is that normal?

I also have a 15-sec video again at 24fps 1080p and the file size is 66.7MB.

Do these stats seem right to y'all?

The comparative math works on these two 1080 videos. First one is about 32 times longer than the second. 66.7 MB times 32 is just about 2 GB. What is the concern?

Yup - each minute at 4k is about 500mB

Two main concerns.

1. I recorded a longer clip on my iPhone 25 seconds at 1080p and its only 15.5MB.

2. I just want to get these videos on my iPhone but the size is proving to be a hassle

Different codecs used between the Mavic and the Iphone will employ different compression algorithms resulting in more or less compression and file size will differ as a result.

Also check the data rate of the two files, I''m sure there's a difference.

The encoding is tuned for high quality. You can always reprocess the footage to make it smaller losing some quality, but you can't do the opposite.
