So I ordered from Adorama 2 days ago. Received email my order will be backordered unto 8/25 which it currently states online as well. So this morning I ordered from Ebay (Korean Seller) for $1000 less. I contact Adorama to CANCEL PREORDER.. They ask why all that nonsense and says they'll get back to me. I hear nothing all day and now I call and they tell me it SHIPPED!!!!

They are making so much money using this "Tariff" nonsense they don't want to lose a sale. Try it you'll see. Try and cancel and it will ship right away.

Cool! What are you going to do with the S. Korean eBay drone? You should raffle it off here in the classified for all the helpful forum members have a chance to win.

Trying to cancel the Ebay. If I can't I will decide what to do. Can return Adorama unopened..Even though $1000 more I'd probably rather have the Adorama for US Warranty. We'll see how this goes.

Personally I'd rather have the Adorama drone as well. However, something tells me the eBay drone from S. Korea is going to be very valuable later this year especially when it becomes difficult to impossible to get *any* DJI drone into the country as well as replacement drones and batteries.

Everyone knows the drones were stopped and/or confiscated at the border starting in the mid to late 2024 time period and that was during the last president so this president has nothing to do with it except he carried on that practice instead of ending it like he did practically everything else.

How is this a bad thing?
Perhaps they held some units back from the last batch, for DOA returns, haven't received any, and are filling back orders with them, leaving DJI USA to handle the warranty issues. Lucky you!

The "Korean Seller" purchase for $1000 less will likely arrive with a $2,000 bill to you from U.S. Customs, due upon receipt, unless the Korean Seller fraudulently fills out the Customs Declaration Form, in which case, when the box is X-Rayed and a Chinese drone discovered inside, the drone is seized by Customs, and the Korean Seller is jailed and charged with customs fraud, and unable to refund your money. Feeling lucky?

It's only a $165 repair, but getting the refurb replacement from DJI Canada, facilitated by DJI USA, may run into some snags along the way.

The title is misleading. There's nothing to say that the drone has been confiscated, as the author states. He only knows that it's being held.

I had a drone hung up in customs 3 years ago...had to fill out all sorts of forms and give them my social security number. It's been a "thing" for a long time but it ramped up dramatically a year or so ago. Three months ago I got a Mav3Pro replacement from Canada in about 4 days...so it's just a crap shoot at this point.

What I don’t understand is why would DJI honor a US warranty if Adorama sells you a drone that they went and gotten in Canada but if you yourself, go to Canada and buy it, they won’t honor the warranty? I suspect that wherever adorama is getting these drones they’re not paying the duty taxes And making a killing Also, how will DJ I know if the drone from Canada came from Adorama or if you had it shipped directly to USA

I suspect DJI has a list of serial numbers they maintain since every single DJI drone comes from DJI China. If an America buys from Adorama, they are buying from an authorized dealer in their own country which usually means you have a good warranty; however, if an America buys from a Canada dealer....not exactly the same. At this point, I have never heard of DJI not honoring a warranty, they just direct you to your own region for service which means your purchase from the Canada dealership has to go thru Canada. Something to do with those pesky government regulations I suppose.

We'll never know if Adorama is paying tariffs and unfortunately it's not the end consumer's right to know who exactly pays the tariffs or how much which is why this whole "scheme" is likely working against us.
