I see that the threads of the update is growing extremely long with remarks of a lot of (angry) people, including me.
And although I don't like to be pampered and told what to do (I'm still Dutch) updating a DataBase makes sense.
So my question...

Does anybody knows what this update is actually about??
Or is everybody just speculating....

Speculations, Conspiracies, Doom, Gloom. You name it, it's here.

It's an update, just like any other update. One where you have to accept the terms again, just like you did the first time you registered. Just like pretty much every other company that releases software updates.

In order to accept the terms you will need to be online. No you WILL NOT need to be online for every flight thereafter despite what people have read into that pretty simply line.

No you Mavic will not be restricted after you register.

No, none of the features will be removed or limited.

Yes, you will have the most up to date NFZ data which is a good thing.

I have no problem with the NFZ to be honest. I live not so far from our international airport but that is still 10 miles away. No warning so far.
And not so interested in filming my own garden. Been there, done that.

But...
Some people just don't learn

It wasn't everyone speculating, just the paranoid ones. The hysteria is off the charts here, it's amusing.

A part of me now wishes there were no nfz database updates and tfr's so we could see more incidences of drones crashing into stadiums etc as more quads get into the hands of the public. And therefore the media picking up these stories leading to govt intervention and regulations.

DJI is doing a good thing. They have a self interest in keeping the industry alive since they are the main player.

Anyway, the changes are in the change log. Just updated and will test later.

Go4 Update just arrived on Android.
Here's what we have - new modes to temp us to upgrade :-) (I for one have)

-Added QuickShot Mode.
-Added Coordinate Mode.
Matrice 200:

Editor
-Added some new filters and opening scenes.
-Updated the music library.
General:
-After updating, users is required to log into their DJI account once.
-Added a feature that

I asked on another thread.
The updates intelligent modes... do they also work for the Mavic or only for the new Spark?

So..

-Added advanced gesture controls.
-Added horizontal and vertical panoramas.
-Added ShallowFocus shooting mode.
-Added QuickShot Mode.
-Added Coordinate Mode.

There don't work for the Mavic

OK, I guess that there also more "selfie" things which I don't use. My Mavic is always at 60 meters AGL because of cranes and masts at site. And I'm just playing with 360 panorama which I'll use other software for.
Nothing lost then
