What do you need to adjust to create smoother stops that is not abrupt?

I have read and watched videos on settings but it tends to confuse me a bit on what actually is happening. Does anyone know if there is a tutorial out there that explains it whilst providing visual examples relating to the adjustment made.

I would like to make any flight movement where once I release the joystick it comes slowly to a halt instead of stopping quickly giving me this sort of snappy stop. My turns, rising or lowering and side movements do not look smooth in the footage and the main causes seems to occur when I stop or change movements.

Will taking it into sports mode override any of the slow settings made so that it is back to responsive when I need to?

You've got cinematic mode, tripod mode, and can also tune the joystick response manually. All depends on what you're shooting and how you want to take the shot.
