I used one on my Phantom for a long time until it became obsolete (cellular network wise) and never replaced it with the newer version. It worked flawlessly and weight very little (in comparison to the Phantom).

We use radio signal trackers on dogs in Florida during hunting season not the same as GPS but they definitely work, a friend of mine has more than once tracked the collar to an Alligator

This is a valid point here in the US. Tractive appears to run on 3G wireless networks, so if they don’t offer a 4G version yet, the 3G networks here have finite lifespans:

• AT&T has been phasing out their 3G network to make room for 4G and now 5G. Get Ready, 3G is Going Away in 2022
• Verizon is announcing their 3G sun-setting this year, 2020. Verizon Delays Shutdown of 3G CDMA Network Until the End of 2020 ·

This is true for any device we own that only runs on 3G today.

Unfortunately that's one of the negatives for running dogs to hunt deer, dog stops to get a drink and he becomes a meal. Any body of fresh water in Florida has Gators in it
