I'm building a waypoint flight to look at some property that will go over a major power transmission line. Is there a safe altitude to fly over those under RC control as well as an automated waypoint flight? Is that a different altitude?

For a waypoint flight, I'd assume the only concern is EM fields messing up the GPS system. For an RC flight, I'd assume concern would be that plus signal from RC to drone. Flying original Mavic Pro.

For PG&E their rule is 200 ft horizontal and at least 20 ft vertical from lines. Sorry FPVers No "line looping" allowed!
You should stay at least 25 feet from all their little buildings too. One more note Don't takeoff and land from their right of way, They don't like that. in Cali for PG&E Their right of way is 60 ft on either side from the lines. You should check with the line owners. P.S. their is no hard and fast rule really BUT you must remember YOU are responsible for ALL damages if you cause an outage.....Yikes!! You may (VERY possible) get interference but I have line looped many a time with none tho.
