When public agency in the US flies a drone - records retained and for how long

Now that local, state, and the federal governments in the US are flying drones I wonder what, if any, their records retention policy is. What files are they expected to retain like the flight log or the raw video files? Wouldn't it be interesting to do a public records request for, say a .txt flight record, associated with a government produced drone video.

Has anyone any experience with public records requests of such information?

That would be the ACLU or the branch of the ACLU for the state that you live in. The NYCLU (ALCU of NY) has a great article that includes your concerns
