Where are full resolution photos/videos stored?

I own a Mavic mini and a Pro 2. I use the stock controller with an iPad mini 5 for the Mavi mini, and the Smart Controller for the Pro 2. Are the full res photos and videos stored on the onboard micro SD cards? When I use the DJI Fly app for the Mini, and use the download function (to the iPad mini), is the downloaded video/photo full res? What is the best way to utilize the micro SD card in the Smart Controller?
Sorry for all the questions, but I’m not very clear about memory management on the two drones and the Smart Controller.

The Mini don’t have RAW format so it is what it is on the SD card. But on the Mavic 2 Pro You can have stored in RAW but still stored on the SD card at the drone and not in full resolution at the SC.
