Where are the Updates done

Hi, I hope this is a "clever" question. I plan to update my Mini2. Where is the update saved? Is it in the FLY app in the Ipad/mobile or in the RC och drone itself?
If I made the update with my Ipad connected do I then have to do it again if i change to another Ipad?

DJI Fly updates are installed on you mobile device. If you fly with multiple mobile devices, you'll need to update DJI Fly on all mobile devices when DJI releases a new version.

Firmware is installed on the remote controller and/or drone. You won't need to install the same firmware again after switching mobile devices.
