Why did my home point drop 8.5' between take-off and landing

I did a run today to measure the height of some local power lines a short distance from my home point, but the math didn't make sense. Upon checking the controller video, I see it displays it landed 8.5' below the same place where it took off (see image below). The only thing unusual was I accidentally backed out of the DJI Go 4 app for a few seconds but when I went right back it, the display showed the same altitude as before I backed out.

Your home point didn't change.
The altitude is calculated from air pressure measured by a barometric sensor.
It's common for height numbers to drift during the time of a flight.
You may improve the accuracy by recalibrating the IMU.
