Why the USA can't buy the Mavic 4 Pro.

I think we already have some historical references regarding DJI getting drones into the US lately. Look at the the latest 2 or 3 models and their success rates, what makes the M4P any different? Why would a M4P be able to easily sail thru but the Air 3S cannot?

CBP is not a commercial shipping service, it's not cool to continuously probe their defenses with your repeated attempts of creative shipping to get product past them are rebuffed. At some point, it's going to get painful when the fees and fines and confiscations and the holds and refusals to return and destroyed and lost product starts to add up along with the customer complains, the loss of good will, and the repeated warnings from card processor. It's just not sustainable.

That's no way to conduct a respectable business hence the big f/u to America.
I agree with everything you say 100%

My Air 3S sailed right through Customs. It was business as usual for my shipment.

Did you send a note to DJI letting them know if they simply ship their drones going forward the same way they were sent to you then they'll have no problems getting them into America? Did you offer up DJI just to ship everything to you and then you get them distributed to the rest of us Americans? ;) /s /s /s

I remember last decade during the laser pointer days, it took a couple of shipments to get one of those super high powered blue lasers thru customs but they learned how to start marking them as flashlights and shipping batteries separately. :)

If only it were that easy :)

I just wanted to point out that I'm not sure how widespread the issue actually was. There were lots of YouTubers, bloggers, and media outlets covering it, but all that noise doesn't necessarily translate into useful data about what really happened.

LOL, I gotta ask, do you own a Skydio ??
Of course I do not own a skydio,I have more common sense than buying a piece of junk like the brand. If the company had enough guts to try and build folding drones for the consumer to compete with DJI things could maybe be a little different.I will stick to my DJI and Autel drones for now.All Skydio is good for is trying to cause trouble on the political side for DJI.And they even fail at that, lol.

Oh boy,DJI has nothing to worry about when it comes to Skydio junk.I wonder if skydio will ever figure out how to make a drone that will fly further than 2 feet for starters.

I'd rather not admit it either but facts are facts and DJI is still painfully and embarrassingly way behind Skydio when it comes to OA. Until DJI can make their rumored "beacon" work, they're never going to come close to this:

Soon in the near future there will be no DJI product in the US...it will be give up flying or find alternatives.

Thanks for being up front with your feelings on Skydio, they are not junk and I have had 3 units, still have one today & I still enjoy flying it, the others were sold to enthusiasts who needed one, never had any issues whatsoever, though the flight time is short and the camera sensor is not up to par with any of the DJI drones, the Tracking and Obstacle Avoidance kicks all other systems to the curb. The CEO of Skydio in my opinion made a very bad decision to abandon the consumer market and get involved with politics, so hate the Company ,but not the Product.

I could go on, but Skydio is not the main subject matter in this thread.

World trading has changed since the US government introduced tariffs on partners that have traded for years, those partners now starting new trading blocks excluding the US as a partner. Companies that traded with the US are no longer trading with the US or have reduced trading due to outrages tariffs. For all we know the Chinese government may well have told DJI no more drone sales to the US until the trade dispute is settled, this is becoming common practice. There are alot of countries around the world where people can afford to buy the Mavic 4 Pro. Here in Canada DJI can't stock the Mavic 4 Pro fast enough as they sell out the day they arrive from China due to long pre-order lists. I was able to buy my Mavic 4 Pro and had it shipped to me the day it was released. I wanted to buy the Creator package but it was unavailable so I purchased the Fly More kit and purchased all the accessories including the RC Pro 2 and the 240W charger. I hope that Americans can soon get the Mavic 4 Pro as it is an awesome drone combined with the RC Pro 2.

This is disappointing, you would think by now with Skydio gone from the game and the AO space is wide open, DJI would have mastered the tech but instead it doesn't appear to come anywhere close to what Skydio had few years ago. There's something to be said for near flawless tracking and AO and sometimes I wonder if DJI doesn't see this as priority. Imagine if the FPV drone with superior AO, you could push forward and fly pretty much anywhere at top speed and the FPV drone will make it thru. That's where we should be in the next 5 years. If the M4P active track is not as good as the Air3S does that mean these projects were indeed "parallel" and the Air3S got the latest code which somehow missed the M4P? Pretty sure a sw update is coming on day but c'mon.

I love my Neo and Avata 2 as well as flying my Mini 4 Pro with my Goggles 3. No other company makes a relaxing FPV possible that you can buy off the shelf and go tree surfing. As a pure hobbyist I am left with zero options at the moment other than flying what I already own. Of course my wife and credit card are thankful. Skydio has no interest in my wants. Their desire is to stop the only company that does.
