Thanks to all contributors in this thread! Great input so far. Relating to the question, why I’m doing it: I think there are no stupid questions. To someone it’s obvious to someone another it isn’t. I’m always happy to explain and answering all questions if someone is curious.

Du meinst "minimal surface area" so im vehrwenden, there is very low aerodynamic resistance due to the shape or thickness of the arm. Du kannst auch sagen, es hat ein "low drag coefficient".
Thank you for the explanation. That’s exactly what I meant.

You could also add weight to the opposite two arms, to off set the weight that the camera and arm have added out the back.
That’s one of the next things I’m going to change. Although I think, the balance between front and back is not so important to the drone. Of course, I lose agility and ascending speed but the Mavic is pretty good in balancing. The greater problem is the weight of the camera far above the drone. So, I’ll remove the battery from the GoPro and reduce the weight of the camera with the cage by about 15%. I’ll attach a (little) power bank as counter weight on the bottom and more front of the drone. That should reduce the allover offset of the balance. I’ll do some measures soon.

Then the only thing to affect flight would be the aerodynamic drag of the camera and arm, with the camera being the most, from what I see.
However, that is still minimal because you are not here to create a racing machine, but rather, to just see the drone in flight, or a portion of the drone in flight and that should not really present much of a problem. Though I would suggest you get the weight and balance (CG) sorted out, before flying, to make it fly the best.
The drag itself should be neglectable. The only really negative effect is, that it puts a force that applies to the same direction as the weight and reduces the balance further. But as you said, I’m not going to race with this installation.

After looking at your video, I think you can still get the front section of the drone in the filming frame and get the effect you want during flight and get a better forward looking perspective, if you shorten the arm, lowering the camera, then of course changing the angle of the camera from a less downward view to a more forward view.
By lowering, shortening the arm, you will get less pendulum effect as the drone moves about and then get a better overall image with smoother flight. I'd say you could get away with maybe half the length you have in that video. Try that and see how it looks, feels and films, before giving up completely. Most of that swinging movement is caused by the out of CG of the drone, so be sure to compensate with added weight if and when you shorten the arm.
That’s one thing I’ll test next. I don’t have a half length extension arm, but I’ll try it with the standard mounting and see what I can get from it. Maybe it’s nice too. My first desire was to film the drone from nearly above but having more different angles is also good. If I get this stable I know, I’m on the right way if not… I’ve to find another solution. ;)

From what I’ve seen, I’ve two major points to work at. First to reduce the off-center weight (removing the battery from the camera; maybe shorten the extension arm). Second and maybe even more important, I’ve to stabilize the connection between the drone and the GoPro. I use a helmet mounting which is pretty good but there’s some foam rubber in between. This adds a little margin and allows the extension arm to swing. I’m not a good mechanical engineer, so I’ll first try to fix it with a cord from the camera to the front of the drone.

If it’s going to work out I see if I can find someone 3D-Print or build a good mounting and extension (@Thunderdrones ? :D). All in all, it’s a nice little and entertaining project.

And I still need a name for my drone! I’ve to think about that.

Greetings
Jürgen

I feel you are going to get 1201/1202 alarms going off at some point

Also I would use a bullet style camera (replayXD maybe) without a screen.
Do you really need to play with your video before you get home

What alarms are those? In my short test I haven't got any.

For the Camera: I've a GoPro and an Osmo Pocket. I'm not really interested in buying another one for this gimmick. ;)

When I previously asked the question of why Jurgen (sorry, I don’t know how to add the double dots - oomlot?) I was curious if maybe he was trying to capture video evidence of the battery disconnect issue during flight that had been recently reported as the cause of some crashes. Sorry I didn’t elaborate earlier @crumflyer.

Ahh okay that would make sense too. Though that has been quite a while ago and I am not sure, but it may have been that people were not clicking the battery fully in a locked position before taking off, though I am not certain on this.

It's on the keyboard.. German keyboards. But Jurgen does it's job. :)
STINGER !
No, no, no... she's a lovely girl and deserves a proper name. Something like Aaliyah maybe... Still in the thinking process. It's Monday, don't expect anything good from me.

PhotoS: Wille was making a funny and those alarms are from the Apollo 11 mission. Eagle's radio altimeter was sending too much data to the feeble computer (think Commodore 64) which caused it to throw those two alarms. A flight controller by the name of Jack Garman is the guy who told "Flight" that it was OK to continue powered descent with those alarms. I grew up during "The Space Race" and am a devout fan of space exploration.

Sorry, couldn’t find it on my iPad.

It was a post I read recently (although it could have happened a while ago) with a video where someone found 1 out a number of his batteries would not click in no matter what he tried due to some deformation of the battery itself. Based on the comments in the thread there were others with the same experience. That batteries that exhibited this behavior had successful flights but experienced erratic power while aloft.

Even a Monday is a great day, if you are lucky enough to live amongst the beauty of Austria! :-)

And who, Capitan Kim, is crumflyer ??
