Will flying in close proximity to a mobile phone mast cause control disconnect. There are several areas around me that Suitable to explore but there are masts nearby

The important thing is what do you mean by close proximity?
If you are 50 yards away, there's nothing to worry about.
If you are planning to fly 3 feet away .. maybe.

At least fifty meters away
