Will there be a way to fly with dedicated controller and no phone or tablet?

I watched so many youtubes on the new MP2 and Zoom, that I thought I heard about the release at some point of a controller that would replace needing a cell phone or tablet...

Or did I dream that?

I remember someone speculating about that somewhere on YouTube, but I dismissed it immediately because the basic design of Mavic controller has been so popular and I just didn't see a reason to change it.

I'd love to have such a controller but will make do I am sure
