Did I make a mistake?

5) Launch Mavic up about 10 feet. Let it hover for 20 seconds to determine if it is holding a stable place during stationary rotation. Rotate Mavic 360 degrees both directions. Go forward 5 feet and go reverse 5 feet. (50 seconds).
^^ That's the big one, right there. After you know that your craft is flight worthy, watch it hover for 20 seconds. If it's maintaining its position in space, you're ready to fly. Recently, I brought my P2 up a few feet, and it started a slow yaw to one side. I landed it, recalibrated the compass (which I had just done), and tried again. It hovered perfectly the second time. The flight was flawless.

More than anything, just get out and fly your craft!
