I don't fly in the dark. If I flew in the dark I think I would use a third party GPS locator.
Not sure that flying outside "legal" flying times will affect DJI warranty or not. Might be an easy out for them...Good Luck and let us know, for sure.

Not sure where the OP is located, but In the US, it’s not “illegal” to fly at night as a hobbiest.

That said, flying at night is actually easier to determine orientation as it’s easier to see the LED markings on the drone, especially if you add aftermarket strobes. This makes VLOS flying even easier as compared to daytime flying, there the drone can easily be lost against any backdrop.

Just to clear things up, it is NOT illegal to fly at night in the US. If you look at the FAA rules it says nothing under the special rule about not flying at night. Now they do recommend you don't fly at night, but it isn't prohibited. Fly under the Special Rule for Model Aircraft

Not sure if you meant to quote my post, but I’m in agreement with you. I specifically said it’s NOT illegal to fly at night in the US as a hobbiest.

Now that everybody's knee has stopped jerking. "legal" was in quotes to mean the FAA suggests a lot of things in their regs. Sometime the suggestions they make are not followed and sometimes accidents result in not following the "suggestions". The manufacturers will sometimes defend themselves and their products using this reason or excuse, if you will, that the "suggestions" by the FAA were not heeded, therefore releasing them from possible "legal" actions or retribution, by way of claiming no warranty coverage, possibly, as in this case.

I am not an expert but I played one on TV.
