Heavily pixilated feed

I have 3 flights on my new Mavic Pro.
The first and second flights were in Beginner mode.

The first flight was perfect and I kept things low and slow to become familiar with the App, controller and bird.

The second flight surprised me with a heavily pixilated video feed to my Samsung Galaxy Note 4. I brought the bird back down right away and power cycled all devices and tried it again - same results. I completed the flight and figured I would research it once back at my home.

Using the supplied DJI cable continued to give me garbage on screen.

3rd flight at new location gave me more of the same. After returning home I found that some Youtube videos suggested the cable was fragile and possibly damaged. Others suggested removing and reinstalling the App on my phone. I have done both steps and still get garbage on screen. Even switching to the USB port on the bottom of the controller yields the same results.

I will test with my iPad tonight and see if that provides different results.

Any input would be appreciated.

Pardon my rust, but where do I locate the previous (4.15) version... Now excuse me again while I follow your link... Duh.

Its right on Jordons post. Click on his link and ..oh 1st uninstall your Go 4 app, then install V 4.1.14. I just did that myself today . all is back to normal . once done re check all your settings. Especially your RTH height. Best of luck . HANG IN THERE EVERYTHING WILL BE O.K AGAIN SOON.

Hey guys, thanks for the knowegeable and informed responses. I removed the 4.1.18 App and installed the Manager then grabbed the 4.14 version of the App and the garbage screens were gone.
Prior to the App change I did try the factory Samsung cable and it did not do much to fix the feed issue.
Now that I can see my video feed I will feel much better about getting back out there.

By the way, I am back to using the included cable with the controller.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get more comfortable with the sliding cable bracket in the phone mount? It seems to be fairly cumbersome to use.

Knock-knock. I'm back. My phone auto updated the Go 4 App to the newest version today and I am back in the same boat. I will redo what I did yesterday but I want to lock the App down and prevent updates unless I choose to update.... any ideas?

Found the option to stop Apps from auto updating but the process of selectively updating apps manually reminds me of installing Windows from floppy disks... gotta be a better answer. I jumped on dji support and told them to fix it... think I should hold my breath?

I dont think you can stop a specific app from auto updating i think you have to stop them all.

I've always had auto update turned off so I can keep an eye on whats updating anyway. Its not much of a bother.

Has anyone got news if version 4.1.18 has been repaired yet? I reverted back to 4.1.15 for the reasons mentioned above but this means I can't try the new pano mode, eventhough I have updated the firmware. I tried the latest app version yesterday evening but it still gave the same trouble with the video-link.

A new version of 4.1.18 was released on Google Play Store earlier today ... but nobody knows what the mini-update includes.
Needs someone who had the problems with the initial 4.1.18 to check it out.
Alas, I'd be happy to ... but never had the issues, myself.
(Perhaps they added the problems for me? :p )

Hey all. More of a lurker than a commenter so please consider this my introduction. Can confirm the software fix for Android. Was running 4.1.15 on a Galaxy Tab with zero issues until the update last week which ruined everything. Thankfully I found an .apk file for .15.
Anyway just went out and tested the mini updated 4.1.18 and it worked flawlessly for the duration of 1 battery. Tested all modes within Pano mode as well with no issue. Hope this helps

Thanks! That is good to know.

Now my only issue is figuring out why it won't stitch the pictures together for the sphere mode. I am getting a notification in flight that the it was successful after the pics are taken. But no luck viewing it like in the YouTube videos. Using a galaxy Tab A
