Amazing!! Using Google Earth for 3D view of Litchi Waypoint Missions

    107 testing friday

I had my recurrent test last month. I was only asked for my driver license, but brought all correspondence from PSI (payment receipt, verification email, etc.) just in case of any problems at the testing center. I also made sure to bring my existing 107 certification and my FTN number. Neither...

Use MOBAC to create Sectional chart images of any size

I've been using OruxMaps for years. It has the Chartbundle VFR Sectional web service built-in, and you can add your own WMS/WMTS services as well, which I've done for my state orthoimagery and USATopo.

Use MOBAC to create Sectional chart images of any size

Okay, then I'm thinking backwards. I thought that since you were going through all the motions to create tiles that your desired final product was in fact the tiles. Since you can already freely download native resolution rasters I don't know why you would go through the trouble of downloading...

Use MOBAC to create Sectional chart images of any size

To create tiles in QGIS from existing raster imagery you need to go into the processing toolbox and select "generate xyz tiles (mb tiles)" under the "raster tools" menu. You will get a single file as a result, with the extension of ".mbtiles". That's probably not what you want, but you can also...

Use MOBAC to create Sectional chart images of any size

I use GIS and CAD daily as well. Why not just download the Geo-tiff from the FAA? It'll drag right into QGIS then you can re-project it if you need to bring it into CAD at a different coordinate system, or crop out any portion you need and make a nice layout in the QGIS layout manager/print...

    NEED YOUR ADVISE

Don't neglect the Mavic Pro (1) or Platinum - arguably better than the Mavic Air, takes excellent photos and video if you know what you're doing, and much more affordable than the Mavic 2, so you won't cry as much when you crash it.

Want to get a drone help with rules

Not all airports are currently available. The system is still in the process of being finalized. Some airports still require "manual" applications for authorization. You can easily study for and pass the 107 exam with the free materials below. The 60 question exam will take about 20 minutes...

I’m going for it!!! The FAA Part 107. I’ll nail it! I’ve got determination!!

You can easily study for and pass the 107 exam with the free materials below. The 60 question exam will take about 20 minutes. Average study time is about 15 hours in total. The exam is NOT difficult, if you prepare. 1. Tony Northrup video and associated fact sheet. Watch this video first. Then...

Want to get a drone help with rules

A little more very specific info: Attached is a portion of the VFR chart that you would need to be familiar with. Phoenix Int. is a Class B airport and its airspace encompasses a very large area. You would almost always be underneath some level of Class B, which in itself is generally not a...

Want to get a drone help with rules

Without knowing exactly where you intend to fly it's difficult to give much help. Chandler appears to be relatively free from any serious flight restrictions. The apps that are out there can sometimes be confusing or even incorrect but they are getting better. My advice is to go first to the DJI...

    Sharing Huge Video Files

Keep in mind that a video has to be quite interesting or unique - and fairly short - to maintain a viewer's interest, and I can almost guarantee that your recipients will not share the same level of interest or excitement in your videos that you do, especially if they are unedited and difficult...

    TSA vetting

Your temporary cert. is available a couple of days after you pass the exam, provided you did everything correctly. It is valid for 120 days. The background check takes some time, which is why you don't receive your actual wallet-sized certificate until a couple of months later.

    Linking

Your aircraft and remote are already linked from the factory when you get it. The only reason to re-link is if you are changing remotes, or binding a new or replaced aircraft to an older remote.
