    Chattanooga Areas to Fly

I am looking for some new places to fly in the Chattanooga area. I have flown downtown, Coolidge, the Sculpture Fields, Sunflower fields, and a few others. Any ideas would be great. I have talked with Lookout Mountain Flight Park and they are cool with drone pilots in their area with some...

    Flying Mavic Air with AirMap

I was wondering if anyone has flown their Mavic Air utilizing AirMap instead of the DJI GO4 app. If so, any feedback is appreciated.

    Asked the Chief of Police

I have never thought about going in to the police station, but I always reach out to the chief of police or at least email the police email address anytime I am going to be traveling to a new area. It helps to ensure that you know the laws and they are always very helpful and thankful that I...

    Flying in Texas

I am planning a trip to Corpus Christi, TX and was contemplating taking my drone (since it is made for travel). When I read through the drone laws in Texas, the item that jumps out at me is that you can not have any photos or videos of anyone without their permission/knowledge. Am I reading...

    Hixson, TN pilots

That sounds fun. I have gone down to the Hunter and flew early in the morning (sunrise) before people start moving around.

    Hixson, TN pilots

I unfortunately haven't been able to fly lately with work and all of the blasted RAIN! It is about time for it all to stop and get some good flying in.

    Flying in North Carolina

I am actually traveling to the Wilmington area in March and have been reading up on the NC drone laws. The way I read it, is that you can not take off of state property, which to me would be the state capital, DMV, etc. However, I would think that launching and landing on a side walk, which is...

    Mavic Air 3D Scanning

Does anyone know if the Mavic Air (or an add on software) can perform 3D scanning of a building, landscape, etc?

Complete Beginner. Just purchased a Mavic. What have I done!

I agree with mrwagdog. I too started on a SYMA drone and flew it for several months before moving to my MA. No, they do not fly anything alike, but the same theory of flight (i.e. the two sticks for control). I feel more confident flying my MA due to all the crashing and figuring out how to...

    Yes, or No! My dilemma

Your property or not, it is unlawful to fly non VLOS by FAA regulations. However, FAA does not cover indoor activity, and yes I have flown my Tello within the boundaries of my houses 4 walls from room to room while non VLOS.

    Yes, or No! My dilemma

I own both a MA and Tello. I have not been brave enough to fly the MA inside the house (wife would kill me if I crashed), but the Tello is fun to fly in doors when the rain and night coming early prevent from flying my MA outside. If gives you a chance to learn control in a controlled environment.

    Philadelphia City Hall

I was at Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell and they were within 5 miles of the airport and 20+ helipads (according to B4UFly and Hover), but outside of geofencing. I did not say you could not fly, I just said as a hobbyist, I would have to call a bazillion helipads and airports to fly and...

    Philadelphia City Hall

You can fly in Class G airspace as a hobbyist also, but in this area of Philadelphia, you would have to spend about 4 hours contacting the 20+ helipads and airports (Philadelphia International being the major one) to let them know you were going to fly. I just got back from Philly and opted not...
