I just went through this whole mess today. I was a couple of miles away from KOZR and I was not allowed to take off, then a screen appears saying to enter my phone number, I do so, I get a code text to my phone that's valid for 5 minutes, I enter the code in my IPAD and then a few screens pop...

I finally got all my cables, IPAD holder, case for all my gear and was ready to fly. Batteries charged, everything put together and/or installed, App updated and Helipad on the grass. The little beast comes to a hover and just sits there nicely. I had it on normal mode and started testing...

So being new to all this I did fly a Hirobo Shuttle back in the day and my tool set was substantial for a gas operated helo. Is that the same way of life with these MA2's? Is there some preferred kit for our gear or what? Side Note: I searched Toolkit and all I get is police stuff LOL

Well with enthusiasm and some time on my hands I have found a unit with the extended protection already being sold as long as waiting a month isn't an issue for you LOL...

OUTSTANDING points! Noted and taken. Thank you. My unit is being shipped, I am waiting for the serial so I can get my tail number and I have plenty of room to practice right here at my place and all around. I'm out in the country so there will be lots of cattle shots and filming initially :)

1st off are they worth getting/installing? Is there a substantial increase in drag, loss of performance etc that makes these undesirable?. 2nd, I have seen the do not provide protection for the blades from the top (still can hit a ceiling and get damaged) because there is a very small amount...

I'm working on that as we speak, I called Oklahoma this morning and will be meeting with my local FSDO for certification. They have actually been very nice about all this and it's been quite easy so far

I'm thinking not only is it a cleaner view but very helpful for me. I'm mostly doing real estate type work but also surveys and insurance work so I need to keep my machine flying and reliable. Crashing it and blowing it up, like I did with my Hirobo a few times, is not an option.

I am fired up about this new adventure. I just ordered the Mavic Air 2 and cant wait till it gets here. Now just shopping for a set of goggles to make this like being in a bird instead of just flying 1 :)
