Got a few days without rain and snow to test my M2P. We have great nature to film in, but still the M2P impress me as the lighting this time of the year is difficult.

Please note hat LUTs is a creative tool for a certain look. Not a one click solution to grade the D-Log footage. No they do not do lens corrections. But that is really easy in most editors. Do not know lumaFusion myself.

It is actually easier to keep visual contact at night. And if the drones keep below the altitude limits there are no problems at all. I am also a licensed full size pilot. And a bigger problem is the birds. Those damned things think they are allowed to fly at all times and all altitudes !!

I think the real question is if the M2P camera is better or worse than comparable cameras. It is in perspective smaller than a Gopro session.

Did some night flying yesterday and filmed in both D-log and Normal. Pretty dark area only some street and house lighting. I still feel Normal mode seems best in these conditions. D-log is very noisy compared to Normal, and is there really any point in the 10bit color in these conditions ...

Sure. But as said, "slightly". Sometimes (most) a perfect exposure is impossible and you have to focus to get the best exposure for the most important areas in your shot I guess.

Yes I have seen that. As you I have always thought that it is better to be slightly underexposed, but I see the opposite is often recommended. At least for D-Log. I can see the point. It is amazing how much you can find in highlights while editing.
