That's correct, but you'd still have to register the drone if you attached anything to it weighing more than 1 gram. The FAA classification is based on takeoff weight (including any attached accessories).
The post I replied to was made on April 30th. I responded 10 days later because I got a notification.
I don't know about operating as a hobbyist in DTLA but It's easy to fly legally under Part 107. For this particular shot, I flew under Part 107 over a vacant construction site. Landing zone...
What is "professional grade?" I could see the use for steadicaming but I'd rather have a handle centrally located above the drone for that. I've never had an issue hand launching/catching my Mavic or Mavic 2 so this doesn't really appeal to me. I'm sure there are some people who will appreciate...
That’s for sharing the log. It’s weird the data just drops off that last line with no real warnings. I’m traveling and stuck on mobile so I can’t look at this too closely right now but am interested to hear more about this one.
I wouldn’t put too much stock in an anonymous online poll. The results are not statistically significant and can’t be relied on as accurate by any means.
Flight was legal. I flew under Part 107, over a vacant construction site. Max altitude AGL was 700 feet but within 400ft of the adjacent structure which is 637ft tall. Class G airspace.
Here’s a link to the hyperlapse that was captured and this still was pulled from.
The world's biggest drone...
The DNG's captured during the hyperlapse sequence are identical to still photos captured in normal photo mode. 20MP 5568x3648. What's odd is the M2P camera specs say it captures 5472x3648 so I'm not sure why my file is wider by 96 pixels. The hyperlapse that DJI compiled was 1920x1080.
I double...
I've used saved paths in Autopilot (some use Litchi) to do this to document construction projects but it will be nice to have it all in the DJI Go 4 app.
