I had the same issue with mine. It blew within 8 minutes of powering up.

Yes took it apart after I got my refund. It wasn’t a capacitor issue but what appears to be some sort of high power resistor. It had a shrink wrap on it. Below is a photo of the blown component.

I use both 8” iPad mini 4 and Samsung galaxy tab s2 which fit where the phone fits. The corners slip in and it’s pretty secure so no mount necessary.

Hi I used the Galaxy Tab S2 8” tablet without a mount, fits where the phone fits and worked perfectly for me.

I’ve flown it once with it on and the footage was terrible. Sunlight reflecting and spoils the recording. Best keeping it off.

The iPad mini 4 or the Samsung galaxy tab s2/3 works fine for me. I attach it to the controller where the phones attach without any mounts. It’s pretty secure from what I can see.
