Yes took it apart after I got my refund. It wasn’t a capacitor issue but what appears to be some sort of high power resistor. It had a shrink wrap on it. Below is a photo of the blown component.

I purchased the new version with the switch on the back. However, within 8 minutes of starting to charge 2 x Mavic 2 Pro batteries and the remote, it went up in smoke with a loud phhhuttt! noise and burning smell. My batteries and remote survived but the charger didn’t.

The iPad mini 4 or the Samsung galaxy tab s2/3 works fine for me. I attach it to the controller where the phones attach without any mounts. It’s pretty secure from what I can see.
