I have 2 Mavic's, one up to date with all firmware... one never updated in the last 8 months.
both got hosed in the app update or the android update. both work great with Ipad Mini4.
It really sucks they take a good thing and break it... and no resolve for months.
DJI replaced my Mavic Pro ... they are very innovative gps driven drone company. All ways updating their software. That's what took my drone out of the air... logs are the only resolve and persistence. Good luck and no.. your not fully in control of any DJI drone.

Me too but.. I was informed by DJI it's a NFZ and I surf n fly there regularly so I'm trying to remove any issues.. forgetting to go into airplane mode... $850.00 mistake..
I have also sent request for unlock to /flysafe for my now 2nd one.. its just a yellow zone.. ir says i should be able to. Sure is spooky not being able to control a safe Landing.
My thought since I had not been prompted to update to .800 is that I got caught in a software / hardware changes by DJI . Now it looks like I should be able to unlock the zone with DJI account and CC. Yes bout 1.5 miles from a makeshift unmanned airstrip that's rarely used.. when I launched...
Friday the 26th of may.. I was flying in a "authoraztion" zone .. after my app disconnected from the controller I re launched the app and upon reconnect it informed me I was in a NFZ and promptly landed me.. in the Pacific ocean. Seems wrong it let me launch and fly for 13 mins with no...
