Sounds like you were in spotlight mode in active track. In spotlight mode the drone doesn't move.

Just the cooling fans going off and the change of colors were due to the firmware update. Completely normal.

The device works well. I just have to remember to turn it on before and after I drop a payload and that I have to hit the designated button twice for it to drop. After using it a few times you get used to it and it becomes automatic. The directions also could be clearer about mounting the system...

IMO, for roof inspections the Zoom would be a better choice where you can get more up-close and personal shots of potential problems. For real estate the Pro, on paper, has a better camera but in real world use the only big advantage the Pro has in in low light conditions. As far as good...

I purchased/use the 2019 version of the iPad Air. Works flawlessly and the larger 10.5 inch screen is nice. I love the choice I made. BTW, that was my first Apple product. I've been a Samsung guy for years but my S Tab 2 was not compatible.

I fly my Mavic Zoom using a tablet attached to the controller. I don't know why a mobile phone is necessary.

Thank you for your answers. I didn't realize that the guards made that much of a difference with wind resistance/weight.

Just curious, is there a downside to using propeller guards for drones? I have the MZ and don't have the guards but i'm wondering why doesn't everyone have/use them aside from the slight extra weight.
