Thick snow coats the deep forests of silver fir that cling to rugged mountain slopes in the high reaches of the Cascade Mountains. Glittering with a freezing rainbow of monochromatic hues, winter paints the forest in the colors of a slumbering world. The underlying greenery may still be glimpsed...

Flying through circular glory rainbows in the Cascades.

Circular rainbows like this are called a glory. I was on the ridge just below to the right where I'd spent the night. Mavic 2P, 3 RAW images stitched in ACR.

Flew above my house in Lake Stevens, WA to catch the sunrise this morning. Low fog added nice atmosphere.

Frame grabs from video I shot of myself skiing a steep gully in the Cascades yesterday. I'm the little figure to right of shadow line in center of the gully. Watch out for cliffs below roll overs!

BC Ski M2P Beautiful spring day in the central Cascades. Active track had trouble following me over contours. I built a custom foam box to put the controller in (without the control sticks) which I then put carefully in a large chest pocket of my jacket when skiing. I couldn't get the Vimeo...

I'd been flying from my house to view the lake from the south, but have made it over to the west side a couple times this week for sunrise. M2P

Didn't look spectacular from my house, but it only takes a couple minutes to deploy the M2P for the wider view from a few hundred feet.

I rode my bike up the closed Mt. Loop Hwy in the WA Cascades yesterday. Could only see a sliver of one mountain from the road but my M2P reveled this (Big Four mt. on L, Dickerman on R):
