The M2P has been absolutely fantastic and incredibly tough. I barely fly my P4A, P4P and P4O any more.

All of DJIs specs on this bird are conservative. I've done:
32m57s flight time at 7m/s landing at 3.55v.
27.6m/s top speed in manual mode.
24,623m one way distance.
23,239m round trip out and back.

All stock, stock RC with reflector/windsurfer.

It always amazes me every time I fly just how brilliant these little drones are. Sure the odd thing goes wrong for someone but given the number of hours people put on them it is a low failure rate for something so complex.

The fact that something like the M2P exists is just mind blowing and I think people forget that even 5 years ago it would have been military grade kit.

I don’t have so many km’s on mine yet but I have enjoyed every flight. Oh, and I love my MA too :)

While cool, it's been a bit more than 5 years. I built my first multi wayyyyy back in 2009 with CNC cut center plates, towel bars for arms, and motors and escs from a T-Rex helicopter. The control board was Arduino with a lot of off the shelf sensors. There was a lot of soldering and cursing. The military has been doing it longer, but "drones" have been in the hobby space for years.

I know drones have been around for a fair while - I too have built my own. But something of the spec and capability of an M2P that anyone can walk into a shop and just buy and, more importantly, fly with ease?

Yes, I forget the name of the company that was offering them, But there was a couple. Although you couldn't have walked into a Best Buy and Bought them.

Speed and flight time can be significantly affected by conditions, such as wind (either in your favor or against). It's not unusual to beat DJI's specs, but it's nice when you do.

Also I believe DJI rates flight times at a hover (uses more battery than flying normally) and they rate maximum distance with zero wind.

Congrats on the 1000KM though - good to know it's been so solid.

The M2P is also much better sealed than the M1. A recent teardown showed zero signs of moisture inside. An M1 flown in similar fashion will start turning the water indicators pink.

My guess is DJI designed the platform with the Enterprise in mind. The plastic on the M2 fits together with closer tolerances (read $!#% to open) than before and the cooling intakes are better thought out.
