-Fannette Island is the only island in Lake Tahoe, California/Nevada, United States. It lies within Emerald Bay, on the California side of the lake. Over a long period of time, it was called many different names, including Coquette, Fanette, Baranoff, Dead Man's, Hermit's, and Emerald Isle. Fannette Island is a part of Emerald Bay State Park. It is accessible by boat, canoe, or kayak. Swimming to the island is not allowed, due to hazards including extremely cold waters and boat traffic in the area.
The ruins of a small stone building stand on the island. This ruin is the "Tea House", constructed by Mrs. Lora Josephine Knight, the owner of Vikingsholm.
Fannette Island was the home of Captain **** "Them's my toes" Barter from 1863 to 1873. The eccentric captain had moved from England and built his own tomb and chapel on the island. He enjoyed sailing and earned his nickname from his penchant of showing his self-amputated toes to guests. Ironically, he was never interred in the chapel he built, as he was lost in a storm off Rubicon Point in 1873

Sand Harbor features a large sandy beach, picnicking facilities, nature trail, boat launch, and visitors center and is the site of the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival.[3] The Sand Harbor unit covers 55 acres (22 ha).[4]

Zephyr Cove is located on the east shore of Lake Tahoe at 39°0′1″N 119°57′9″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.8 km2), of which 2.1 square miles (5.5 km2) is land and 0.12 square miles (0.3 km2), or 5.47%, is water.[1]

Atop the Sierra Nevada mountain range, tucked along the southeastern shore of Lake Tahoe, Cave Rock is a great place to put in a boat and explore the crystalline waters of the largest alpine lake in North America.
The boat launch offers a double ramp and the park has more than 40 spaces for trailer parking. A small beach at the south end of the park provides a perfect place for swimming, sunbathing and snorkeling, as well as a good spot to launch a canoe or kayak.
A steep shoreline and rocky shoals make this a great location for fishing and enjoying the majestic beauty of Lake Tahoe
Heavenly Ski Resort - Boulder Lodge Chair Lift - Stateline, Nevada

Its a great place to park for a day of skiing / riding. Its a local secret that this lodge always has parking super close to the lift and is not as jam packed as the upper Stagecoach Lodge. Im there just about every other day during ski season!
