400 FW

Hi. I received a new MP aircraft only and came with 400 FW. Because I was in the 700 in my crashed bird with app updated to the latest was wondering if I can maintain 400 FW with the new bird and use the latest app FW w/o problems. Thanks.

It won't be a problem using the older firmware with the latest app. You won't get the new Quickshot features but everything else should operate normally.

Thanks. I'm using it and everything is operating normally. I want to keep 400 for a while because have read good things about it. Also have note the new Quickshot feature and have to read more about it. Also the FixedWing mode could be a factor to move on. Thanks again.

Why not upgrade with a modded version of 1.4.000? As others have said - best of both worlds.

I would guess he means modified version of FW. When I looked at the link, it appears they are talking about hacking (modifying) the FW. Which is different then just rolling FW back to earlier version. I am sure DJI would look at this as voiding your warranty, if you had a problem and had to send it in.

Also, when you say app FW, do you mean app version. To me and most here, FW only means the Firm Ware on the MP/RC/Battery. The GO4 app, if that is the one you are using, has different version. iOS version can not be rolled back, but Android version can be rolled back.

Also, It would be helpful if you gave us more information as to what device you are using, what software, etc. Otherwise we are just grabbing at straws and spinning our wheels.

The mavic is made up of several different modules; camera, gimbal, esc, fc, core, battery

Each part has its own fw, its not really modifying as assistant 2 has each individual fw package separate and there is a feature in assistant 2 to load individual firmware packages to the Mavic

The bin files are to keep the packages together and make it easy to load with a custom tool (DUMLdore)

Ca02 & es02 are for the same module as without but different hardware
So 100 &101 old hw, 100 ca02 & 101 ca02 new hw
1200 es02 platinum esc hw

As you can see from gdlmus's picture from factory they chuck everything on the mavic as 60* and 280* are RC & goggle fw, looks like 3 hw variants of the controller

I'm looking for help. I have read several posts. You seem like you have an understanding. I realy have no understanding about what I'm asking. What needs to be updated? Firmware, yes ok. Do controller need to be updated or anything else? If so how? Like I said, I'm at a loss here. If you think you can help but it would be just to much to type.
