Hi DJM68,Unless you have a 4K monitor (in which case you need a more powerful PC or video card), intend to crop the footage or want to upload it somewhere at that resolution there is no real reason to shoot in 4K. If your PC is struggling to edit 4K just create proxies. Otherwise the old addage just because you can doesn't mean you should applies.
It is not that my PC is struggling to edit 4K I have not got to the stage of trying to edit it yet, my PC is incapable of playing 4K video as written in my first post.
It is looking more and more like the first thing that I thought, GPU/Graphics Card bottle necking.
Fast CPU AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
Frequency: 3.7 GHz
Turbo Boost: 4.6 GHz
Fast Asus Rog Strix B550 Gaming MoBo
M.2 Main Hard Drive
16 GB of 3200 Ram (I am told this is plenty)
nVidia GeForce GT710 2GB DDR6 Graphics Card (This is a passive heatsink card with no fan) I believe this slow old card could be the issue.
I understand that it is not just the amount of memory or the speed of the memory but all to do with the card architecture and technology (I don't know the right terms)
LOL! I don't care for your 'Old Adage' much, it should reside in the trash can, along with my Old Graphics Card.
Because If I purchase a 1000cc Yamaha Fazer 🏍 with a claimed top speed of 30 mph I really want to try, even if it is just once to see if it will do 30 mph.

But I do appreciate you taking the time to reply.
Thanks
Tom
