Air 3 hyperlapse on 1080p

Got a Air 3 two weeks ago, lots to learn.

3 days ago I did a waypoints 4k video, everything went fine.
This morning I tried doing hyperlap using 1080p but the drone keep changin to 1080p 9:16.
I'm doing something wrong or the Air 3 can't do hyperlapse at 1080p?
I searched the net but can't find the answer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it says 1080p 9:16 that is your High Definition recording.
If you are concerned about the 9:16, that is the screen size (ratio)
for wide screen (9 inches tall for every 16 inches wide)
Old TV sets were 4:3 (almost square)
High Definition MUST be recorded in 9:16... It won't do 4:3.
So, if you are seeing 1080p 9:16 then you are in the right setting.
You usually don't see the 9:16 because it's redundant to mention it.
Not sure why they show that, other than to confirm to you it's true Hi Def
for your peace of mind.

But isn`t 9:16 using a sensor crop. And 4:3 uses the full sensor? so shoot 4:3 for images that use the full sensor and crop later for a better image? Thats what I thought?

Yes, but there is no HD profile with a 4:3 aspect. You simply can not create an h.264 or h.265 video that's 4:3, the HDTV and 4K spec does not provide for that aspect ratio. You're stuck with 9:16.

However, no resolution is lost with the crop. just some visual material. The shot is framed differently. Simply back up if the subject matter impacted by the crop is important and needs to be in the shot.

The only way to get 4:3 video from your drone is to shoot 1080p then crop to 4:3 in post and transcode to an SD profile like 480p. There is no HD resolution old-school 4:3 format.
