Air 3 S compatible with Litchi? If not fool me once, (Mavic 3 Cine) not again.

Back when I purchased My Mavic 3 Cine "Assumed". DJI would add access to the SDK so it would be compatible with Litchi.
Nope, they want to keep sales of their much more expensive pro lines flourishing so they did not provide this basic resource to customers (expletive deleted)
Well I know better now and will not be purchasing a new "Pro/Sumer" from DJI until they provide what is necessary to actually use their drone in a production environment, for me.

I don't know anyone who would have made that assumption since it was pretty obvious that wasn't going to happen and it's just wishful thinking. The existence of Litchi doesn't impact DJI sales not even a little bit and while I cannot comment on their motivation for SDK access, I think it was a few years ago that we all started getting comfortable with the idea and agreed to set that "issue" aside on every single future DJI drone launch for decades the come (meaning I can't still believe this is a thing). DJI consumer drones don't come with SDK anymore. Litchi reminds me of Crystal Sky, just let it go. Ok, I'm not being serious....would be nice but Air 3S gotta stand in line. ;)

Even before the release of the Mavic 3 DJI was hinting at not releasing SDK anymore.
What kind of production would you want to do with your Drone?? (that you can't already do with your Drone)

Obvious, seriously?
Yep, just ignore all the previous models that provided the SDK, why would past availability influence an impression that it was a basic function of the product, that would be included eventually if not in a future firmware release, like so many other DJI firmware upgrades.

Not all of us have the time or inclination to be able to study or infer the inner workings of DJI.

DJI proved my assumptions were wrong unfortunately. (my error)

Being able to easily set up a repeatable mission is pretty basic to my work process and routine deliverables.
Yep there are workarounds but no thanks.

I'll pass on the Air3 because of DJI's decision to limit the functionality and just delegate this drone to the class of an expensive toy. (at least for me)

But by all means I hope the more enlightened than my self, that have decided to "set that "issue" aside" and sheepishly accept it silently, still enjoy their Air3S's

YMMV

Well, maybe this is the one conversation you needed to have; now you know. That was easy, didn't take a lot of studying. If the Mavic 4 Pro launches with SDK support on day 1, I'll eat my hat! :D

Of course, I say that knowing that if I'm wrong, I'll be happy to be super wrong on the issue. :) But I've set my expectation for awhile now that it ain't going to happen. I think DJI made that clear awhile back. For example, my Litchi app is mostly useless.

FWIW, the Air 3S has this functionality, just not through third-party apps like Litchi.

The waypoint feature in DJI Fly is very similar to the waypoint feature in Litchi.

Would be interesting to know what percentage of DJI prosumer products are actually used for what you describe. That number may be part of the reasoning behind what DJI has held back.

Dji actually promised the sdk within a year when I bought my mavic 3 so don't talk out of your bottom.

Keep it civil folks!

Not even close to Litchi or Dronelink in the number of options available. Like saying a Smart Car and a Mercedes are similar.

Who told you this, It certainly wasnt DJI.
Dji did promise the SDK for the Mavic 3 line up on launch but it never happened. We were all disappointed and made many threads and polls but Dji ignored it. Like @mavic3usa said, we will not hold our breath for it in any future consumer drone line up from Dji going forward because they are wanting to push their fly app to have the same capabilities as other apps. I spoke with a person in their R&D and they want to improve their app to be the one stop shop but it might take years before they get there.

It is only a matter of them allocating resources to it if they really wanted to get it done. They obviously don't! care enough.

Litchi and Dronelink are far superior and were done on a shoe string compared to the revenue of DJI. Another case of BS followed by little action.

The smart move would be to partner with or outright buy Litchi, like they did with Hasselblad.
