Like late Christmas present, I unboxed and set up my Air 3S yesterday. One of the first things I noted is that one needs to be EXTRA CAREFUL inserting the battery. It goes in seemingly all the way, but without the little feel-good click. Worse, the drone still powers up even though the battery is not completely locked. Curious if anyone else has noticed this and/or had an issue.

It's hit or miss. If you did manage to power it up like that, I'm not sure you'd actually be able to take off as the battery would likely disconnect before takeoff, causing the drone to lose power and shut down. Also, it's quite easy to visually see the battery is not fully snapped in at that point.

That said, as with any drone, you should always ensure the battery is fully inserted, props are installed correctly, and all other preflight checks are completed. Following these steps will significantly reduce the chance of encountering issues like this.

Fer sure! The point I was trying to make is that with this model (v. my previous Air 2) it's a lot easier to err when it comes to insertion of the battery. As for props, I never remove mine...one less thing to go wrong. That doesn't mean I don't check them, I just don't add additional risk by taking them off every flight.

Yep, noticed the same last night when charging my batteries. Unless you look closely and forget the click, you could easily be faced with the possibility of taking off.
