Air 3S packaging image leaked

Well it's "evidence" of imminent release, unless the photo is fake.

I thought the Air 3 Fly More came with a controller with a built-in screen?

Is there any chance they improve the transmission even beyond the Air 3?

The Neo will be O4 just like the current line up and it comes with the RC-N3. I am almost certain the transmission protocol of the Air 3S will be O4. Though I’m curious why they are releasing yet another RC-N controller, especially if this third iteration is still O4.

Photoshop is a neat tool don't you think....Of course the new air 3s as with any new release will be O4. I hope they release one version of it with an unscreened controller. I don't like not being able to use an Ipad.

It indeed is! But the existence of Photoshop does not confirm that the photo is fake and once the drone is released I will post a photo of the a real packaging and we can see.😃
Also, regarding your screenless remote comment, you do realize the RC-N3 screenless remote is all but confirmed along with the Neo? So your hope will come true.

If it's not going to have a screen, they need to make it small like the controller for my Mavic 2 Pro.

I would probably pay for the better controller because I believe the screen has very bright output, brighter than most phones and tablets?

But for the ones without screen, why make the footprint so big?

Air 3 is smaller and lighter than my M2P yet I have to pack and carry around a controller which has at least twice the footprint and presumably much greater weight?

I WISH that DJI would WAKE UP!! and produce a- MODULE- so I can use my ZORRO OR any Radio I want for that matter.
Cmon DJI read this!

The RC2 may have a max brightness of “only” 700nits, which is lower than many of the newer flagship smartphones and tablets.
However, what most people don’t realize and/or don’t mention is the fact that those 1000+ nit devices go dim in a matter of minutes under direct sunlight, and keep dimming more and more to try to reduce heat. They dim to the point that nothing is visible on those screens under the sunlight. However, the RC2 will maintain that 700 nits of brightness the entire time, especially with it having active cooling.

I have the Air 3 and I'm perfectly happy with it.
The Lidar sensor is maybe a bit unnecessary in my opinion, but nice to have. Are there many camera-related improvements?

I don't upgrade drones much because it's really hard to sell them where I live.

I also love everything about my Air 3! Including the fact that both lenses have the exact same sensor, which makes editing a breeze. That is going to be more difficult with the Air 3S if the two cameras have different sized sensors.

To answer your question, nothing is certain yet but judging by the new gimbal size and shape and placement of the lenses (mainly the fact that the 24mm camera looks bigger than the 70mm camera, which is the opposite of the Air 3), it is my opinion that the 24mm equivalent wide angle sensor will be upgraded to a 1” size while the 70mm equivalent telephoto sensor size will remain 1/1.3” (0.75”).

All I know is when they came out with the Mavic 3 Pro and they all but erased the Mavic 3 and related from the annals, some buyers were livid. Let's hope the Air 3 and Air 3S both have a home to co-exist and will both work with the inevitable O4 smartcontroller coming one day. ;)

Someone screwed up.

A 1" main sensor with a 1/1.3" tele on the Air 3 body looks an awful lot like the original Mavic 3. The difference between 1" and 4/3" being minor enough that I can't image choosing the O3 M3 over the O4 A3S except for very specific applications. The other important goodies like autonomous waypoints are the same.

Plans for a 3S may not have even been in the pipe when the M3 was released. Then, they decided to do a 3 camera M3P and large main sensor Air 3, and product plans changed.

The difference isn't minor, a M43 is 93.6% bigger. It's a very very big difference and especially in the dynamic range department. The difference will most likely be several stops.

This is a subjective issue, so there's no point in having an argument over it. Whether the larger sensor is significant or not depends on the purpose, subject, photographer, and audience.

I can easily see where the 4/3 is critical to a professional photographer that blows things up to print on banners for tradeshows, as an example.

Can you see that the M3 with a 4/3 sensor is extreme overkill for a person making a living as a YT influencer, and needs nothing more than a good 1/1.3" sensor to get superb results for their application?

Professional photographers aren't then only users of cameras that matter. 😁

Differences in size isn't really subjective, it's very quantifiable and the same goes for stops of dynamic range. If the substantially larger and better sensor is need or not is another question ofc, but there's no question whatsoever about the fact that there's a very very large difference in size and quality between them.
