Antenna Boosters (Wind Surfers)

I have had great luck with the Skyreat wind surfers on my P3 and P4. Reviews are very mixed for the MP version. Some say they make it worse. What is the consensus and good brand to get if they do work as well as on the Phantoms?

I only use the 3d dynamic solutions WindSurfer with my Mavic Pro. With having to turn around due to remaining time on battery (per smart RTH) I have flown just over 15,000ft which consist of a couple House Editions and a lot of wooded area, and 30% remaining battery.

There's a video somewhere on the Phantom Forum where an Electrical Engineer basically states these types of antenna/range boosters are ********. Long story short he says these boosters aren't true parabolic and goes on to explain & show why.
